LIFT Japan to launch during World Expo 2025
LIFT Aircraft is excited to announce it has selected Marubeni Aerospace as its operating partner to launch LIFT Japan. Marubeni Aerospace has placed its first purchase order for HEXA aircraft pursuant to their pre-order announced last year and also entered into a license agreement to operate LIFT’s pay-per-flight eVTOL business in Japan, targeting a launch in 2025. Japan will be LIFT’s first launch outside of the U.S., making it only the second country where training and flying eVTOL aircraft is available publicly.
This announcement marks a significant expansion of the partnership between LIFT Aircraft and Marubeni Aerospace. The two companies have joined forces to introduce HEXA to Japan, conducting successful demonstration flights in Osaka and a standout exhibition at SusHi Tech 2024 in Tokyo. The event drew attention from aviation enthusiasts, the public, and the governor of Tokyo, solidifying HEXA’s reputation as a major player in the future of personal flight.
LIFT was first in the world to offer eVTOL pay-per-flight experiences, launching customer operations in 2023. In the near future, the Japanese public will also have the opportunity to receive training and flight experience with HEXA, as hundreds have already done in the U.S.
“We’re excited to deepen our relationship with Marubeni Aerospace and bring LIFT Aircraft to Japan,” said Matt Chasen, Founder and CEO of LIFT Aircraft. “Our demonstrations in Osaka, and Tokyo have shown that there is significant demand for personal eVTOL experiences in Japan. Marubeni Aerospace’s operational excellence and reputation make them the perfect partner as we make the dream of flight a reality for people across Japan.”
Warren Buffet-backed Marubeni Group, including Marubeni Aerospace, is one of Japan’s leading trading companies, and has long been at the forefront of advancing new technologies. With an increased focus on sustainability and innovative transportation solutions, the partnership with LIFT Aircraft represents a natural extension of the company’s vision.
The launch of LIFT Japan represents a major step forward in LIFT Aircraft’s global expansion strategy, as the company continues to bring the thrill of personal flight to new markets. As HEXA prepares for its debut in Japan, LIFT Aircraft remains committed to revolutionizing recreational aviation and advancing eVTOL technology worldwide.
